How to Choose the Ring

Choosing an engagement ring can be quite a task. Few things need to be established before you decide on which one to chose.

  • Your budget. Before anything else, you need to set a budget and stick to it. Doing so will cut down your options and you will be able to find the ring that fits into your budget. Remember, this is something that you need to do before stepping into the jewelry store.
  • The size of the ring. Many people make a mistake on this one because they fail to get the correct size.  You can simply know this by checking out the rings they wear, or you can sneak up to them when they are sleeping and get their ring size. Although rings can be resized, it would be much better to avoid this and get the right one.
  • The Shape of the band. Before shopping for a ring, be certain of what you are looking for to avoid conflict of choices. The centerpiece of the ring come in all shapes such as round, oval, pear, heart and princess. Therefore get to know what shape your partner prefers. This can be done by checking out their other jewelry or indirectly asking their ring of choice.
  • Her style. More than anything else, you want her to love this ring, and this is why you need to pay special attention to her style. Getting your partner a ring that complements her style will get you right where you want to be. When you are with your partner, get to know what she fancies more and what she doesn't like. Know what she praises and also take note in her fashion style. You need to get her a ring that will always match what she wears if she is a fashionista. Trust me she will give you more bundles of love the moment she realizes that she doesn't have to work so hard to match that ring to her outfit.
  • Precious metal options. It is important to know what type of precious metal your partner prefers. She may prefer a specific color such as pink, rose, blue, yellow or something else. She might also prefer a specific type of gold, diamond, platinum or other metals. Establish this by looking into her jewelry and knowing what her favorites are.
  • Make it a surprise. For you to make this moment really breathtaking, you need to make your process a secret. Do not let her know what you are up to since that might ruin the surprise. You can choose your ring months or weeks before you get to pop the question. Your partner probably has in mind the kind of ring that they want, therefore if you can pull off a surprise that might be one of the best moments of your journey together.
